CHICAGO – Three Loyola University Chicago track athletes have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary Round, scheduled for May 27-30 at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Graduate student Roisin Treacy returns to the NCAA West Preliminary Round for the second consecutive season and will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase. Treacy enters the meet as the No. 17 seed after clocking a personal-best time of 10:08.67 at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships.
Junior Nate Boutin will make his NCAA postseason debut in the men's 3,000m steeplechase. Boutin earned the No. 32 seed after posting a personal-best mark of 8:45.43 at the Raleigh Relays earlier this season.
Graduate student Rodolfo Sanchez will also make his NCAA Championships debut, competing in the 1,500m. Sanchez ranks No. 39 in the field after running a personal-best 3:40.53 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
The men's events are scheduled for Wednesday (first round) and Friday (quarterfinals), while the women's competition will take place Thursday (first round) and Saturday (quarterfinals).
The 3,000m steeplechase advances directly to the quarterfinal round and will not feature a first round. Sanchez will compete in Wednesday's opening round of the 1,500m and must record a qualifying performance to advance to Friday's quarterfinals.
All three Ramblers rank among the NCAA's top 48 in their respective events. To qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, athletes must finish among the top 12 in their event at the West Preliminary Round.
