AZUSA, Calif. – Loyola Chicago wrapped up competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational while also competing at the Wheaton "Don Church" Twilight Meet on Saturday.
At Wheaton, the Ramblers opened action in the women's 1500m. Barbara Neiva led the group with a fifth-place overall finish in a personal-best 4:51.78. McKenzie Willard won her heat in a personal-best 4:53.79, while Kayla Schmidt placed ninth in her heat with a time of 5:08.69.
In the men's 1500m, Dylan Ybarra finished 12th in his heat, crossing the line in 4:34.17.
At the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., Loyola competed in multiple sections of the 1500m. In the women's 1500m open, Pippa Carcas placed second in her heat with a personal-best 4:33.93, while Lindsey Kiehl finished 14th in the same heat in 4:47.63.
The men's 1500m invitational featured a strong showing, with Rodolfo Sanchez placing sixth in his heat in a personal-best 3:40.53, which ranks fourth all-time in program history. Izak Bibile finished fourth in his heat in 3:44.97, a personal best that ranks eighth all-time at Loyola, while Nate Boutin posted a personal-best 3:46.98 and took 10th in his heat.
In the men's 1500m open, Colby Revord recorded a personal-best 3:47.85 to place fourth in his heat.
Loyola returns to action May 1 at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, Calif.
