vs. UIC: UIC has rattled off three straight victories to climb within a game of the .500 mark on the year at 4-5-1 overall. The Flames currently sit at 2-2-0 in Horizon League play. Head coach Sean Phillips' team is led in the offensive third by the pairing of Oscar Gonzalez and Jesus Perez. Gonzalez has a team-high four goals to his name to go along with four assists, while Perez, who has found the back of the net twice, leads the Flames roster in assists with six helpers. Sawyer Jackman has seen the majority of action in goal for UIC this season and sports a 1.54 goals against average.
Series Stuff: Tuesday's clash will be the 33
rd meeting between Loyola and UIC in men's soccer. The Flames own a slim 16-14-2 edge in the all-time series but Loyola has dominated as of late, prevailing in each of the last four matchups. In the most recent meeting between the two city rivals, Loyola dealt UIC a 2-0 defeat in a First Round game of the NCAA Tournament back on Nov. 17, 2016 at Loyola Soccer Park.
