How It Happened
Loyola trailed 20-13 in the first set before it mounted a furious charge, scoring 11 of the next 15 points to even the score at 24. A few points later, a kill from Morgan Gresham put the Ramblers ahead, 26-25, but Indiana State got two stops from Sarah Peterson in a 3-0 set-closing surge to escape with a 28-26 victory.

The Ramblers jumped out to a 6-4 lead in set two, but were done in by an 11-1 run that allowed the Sycamores to sprint ahead en route to a 25-12 win.

Loyola built itself a 19-15 advantage in the third set before Indiana State put together a late run, scoring six of the next eight points to deadlock play at 21. The teams exchanged points until consecutive kills from Quinn Spieker and Elle Van Grinsven gave the Ramblers a 27-25 victory to keep them alive in the match.

Neither team was able to gain much separation in the fourth set until late in the action, when a kill from Peterson put the Sycamores ahead for good at 21-20 en route to a 25-22 victory.
