CHICAGO (November 16, 2017) – Maddy Moser (Bloomington, Ill./Normal West), a junior on the Loyola University Chicago women's volleyball team, is the recipient of a State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Good Neighbor Award for the 2017-18 Fall season, it was announced today.
 
A nursing major, Moser carries a 3.85 grade-point average and has been a two-time MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award recipient and last fall was a MVC Volleyball Scholar-Athlete First Team honoree. Moser, who earlier this season recorded her 1,000^th career dig, was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honors society, last month.
 
Also a role model for her excellent work in the Loyola and surrounding communities, Moser has performed community service activities at All American Nursing Home, Agape Ecclesia and assists with events for local youth at the Broadway Armory in addition to her clinical practice.
 
Other State Farm Good Neighbor Award honorees from MVC institutions include Jacob Taylor (Bradley men's soccer), Bailee Cofer (Drake women's cross country), Matt Keller (Evansville men's soccer), Wes Ward (Illinois State men's cross country), Sarah Peterson (Indiana State volleyball), Lily Johnson (Missouri State volleyball), Ashley Norem (UNI women's cross country), Abby Barrow (Southern Illinois volleyball) and Jacob Keck (Valparaiso men's soccer).
 
In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport during the season of recognition. The Valley will recognize 10 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring) for a total of 30 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm Good Neighbor Award honorees.
 
Loyola women's volleyball is back in action Friday night when it hosts Southern Illinois at 7 p.m.
