CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago will take on No. 7 Louisville in the NCAA Tournament First Round. The Ramblers and Cardinals will play on Friday in Louisville. The time has yet to be announced.
Friday's winner will advance to the second round to play the winner of Western Kentucky vs. Marquette.
The Ramblers earned the Atlantic 10 automatic bid after winning a five-set thriller against VCU for their second straight A-10 title and third in four seasons. Three Ramblers recorded 15 or more kills in the win, including 20 kills by
Kaitlyn Burke. Burke also posted her second consecutive double-double with 11 digs.
Loyola enters the tournament on a six-match win streak. The Ramblers and Cardinals have met three times in program history with the all-time series falling 3-0 in favor of Louisville. The last win came in 2000.
