How It Happened

However, a Kelsey Horvath kill ignited a 6-0 Blue Demons run that culminated with an Isabelle Banez service ace, that gave the visitors a 14-9 lead they would never relinquish. The Ramblers cut the gap to three points on a pair of occasions, the last coming on a
Morgan Gresham kill that trimmed the deficit to 17-14, but DePaul wrapped up the set by notching eight of the last 11 points for a 25-16 decision.
DePaul sprinted out to a 7-1 lead in the third set and never looked back on its way to a 25-19 victory. Loyola trailed by as many as eight points before mounting a late rally punctuated by a
Victoria Hodkiewicz ace that sliced the deficit to 23-18, but DePaul registered two of the final three points of the set to close out a 25-19 victory.
