Live Stats vs. SIUEÂ
CHICAGO (September 22, 2017) – Following a stretch that has seen it play four consecutive games away from home, the Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team will return to the friendly confines of Loyola Soccer Park on Saturday evening to host former Missouri Valley Conference foe SIUE in a 7 p.m. tilt.
Â
Last Time Out: Goals from Tom Barlow and Chris Mueller helped send host Wisconsin past Loyola by a final count of 2-0 this past Saturday at the McClimon Soccer Complex in Madison, Wis. Senior
Elliot Collier, junior
Alec Lasinski and sophomore
Aidan Megally each tallied two shots apiece to lead the Rambler attack in the defeat, while freshman goalkeeper
Aidan Aylward was credited with three saves.
Â
vs. SIUE: SIUE, in its first season as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), enters Saturday's clash with an identical record to that of Loyola's, sitting at 3-4-0 overall. The Cougars saw a three-game winning streak brought to an end in a 2-0 defeat to Penn last Sunday in Philadelphia, Pa. The pairing of Lachlan McLean and Eric Tejada has paced the offense for head coach Mario Sanchez's team this season. McLean has a team-high four goals to his name, while Tejada leads the SIUE roster in assists with four helpers. Kyle Dal Santo has started in all seven games in goal and holds a 1.00 goals against average.
Â
Series Stuff: Loyola and SIUE will meet for the eighth time on Saturday evening. The Ramblers hold a slim 4-3-1 edge in the all-time series after the teams split two games last season, with each side defending its home field. Lasinski leveled the deciding strike in the Maroon & Gold's 1-0 win back on Sept. 24, 2016 at Loyola Soccer Park, finding the back of the net with less than 15 minutes remaining in regulation.
Â
Up Next: Loyola resumes MVC play next Saturday (Sept. 30) when Central Arkansas visits Rogers Park. Kickoff against the Bears is scheduled for 7 p.m.
