CHICAGO (October 28, 2018) -Â Loyola opens up a four-match homestand, its final homestand of the year, Monday night when it hosts Southern Illinois. Monday's match concludes a busy stretch that will have seen the Ramblers play three matches in three cities in four days. At Gentile Arena this season, Loyola is 7-4 overall and has won two straight. Monday's contest against Southern Illinois will be the Ramblers' first look at the Salukis this season. The week concludes with a rematch versus Valparaiso, which rallied for a 3-2 victory earlier this month. Loyola needs one more win to triple its total from all of 2017 (5) and to notch its most victories since 2015 (20).

Scouting Southern Illinois
Southern Illinois opened the year by winning three of its first four matches but since then has hit the skids, stumbling in 19 of its last 20 outings, including each of the last 13. The Salukis are winless in 10 true road matches this season and have won just two sets in those 10 contests.
Saturday night, SIU came up on the short end of a 25-15, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18 decision to Missouri State despite 12 kills and nine blocks from Lindsey Paulsen. Outside hitter Maggie Nedoma leads a Saluki attack that hits just .140, with 3.41 kills per set and also pitches in 1.74 digs and 0.30 blocks per set.Â
The Ramblers have dominated the recent series history versus SIU, winning five of the last six meetings, including each of the last the last four. Loyola is 3-3 all-time against the Salukis in the WIndy City.

Scouting Valparaiso
Valparaiso has prevailed in three of its last four outings but has dropped three of its last four on the road. The Crusaders got off to a sizzling start, winning 17 of their first 19 contests but are just 4-4 since. Â
Outside hitter Allison Ketcham leads Valpo with 2.67 kills per set and is also contributing 3.43 digs per set. Peyton McCarthy leads Valpo and the MVC with 1.21 blocks per set.
Home hasn't been kind to the Ramblers of late versus Valparaiso as it has stumbled in its last three meetings with the Crusaders in Rogers Park. Overall, Valpo has claimed six of the last eight matchups between the teams.
