Madison Kimball Earns MVC Offensive Player Of The Week Honors

Senior netted hat trick in Loyola’s 6-1 win over Evansville to clinch MVC title

CHICAGO (October 29, 2018) – Fresh off a hat trick in the Ramblers' regular-season finale, Loyola University Chicago senior Madison Kimball (Fair Oaks, Calif./St. Francis Catholic) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.  This is the first weekly league honor of her career.

Kimball got Loyola off to a flying start in the Maroon & Gold's 6-1 victory over Evansville, finding the back of the net eight minutes into the first half before adding two more tallies over a five-minute span in the second stanza as the Ramblers clinched their first MVC regular-season title in program history.  The Fair Oaks, Calif. native's hat trick was the first by a Rambler since Ciara Murray accomplished the feat against Chicago State on September 23, 2016.

Kimball has enjoyed her top season to date in Rogers Park, racking up a career-high eight goals to go along with an assist.  Her goal total ranks second on the Rambler roster and puts her third on the MVC leaderboard in the category.

Top-seeded Loyola opens play in the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Championship on Friday evening at 6 p.m. when it plays host to fourth-seeded Illinois State in a semifinal-round tilt at Loyola Soccer Park.
