A-10 Quarterfinals: No. 7 Loyola Chicago at No. 2 Saint Louis

LEADING OFF 
Loyola Chicago (9-3-6, 4-2-4 A-10) claimed the No. 7 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament and faces No. 2 Saint Louis (13-3-2, 8-1-1 A-10) in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. at Hermann Stadium in Saint Louis, Mo.  

QUICK KICKS  

  • The Ramblers make their third conference tournament appearance in four years as an A-10 school. 
  • Goalkeeper Allison Deardorff was named the final A-10 Defensive Player of the Week after combining for 13 saves and a .929 save percentage against Rhode Island (Oct. 23) and at Saint Louis (Oct. 26), where she secured her ninth shutout of the season.  
  • Deardorff enters the postseason sitting at second in saves percentage (.859) and in saves per game (4.72), and ranks third in goals against average (.778) and in shutouts (9).  
  • Junior forward Zoe Hevey leads Loyola in points (16) with five goals and six assists, in shots (67) and in shots on goal (27), placing her at eighth, fifth and sixth in the conference, respectively.  
  • The Ramblers rank ninth in the eastern region of the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Top 10 Regional Rankings.  
  • Loyola welcomed 10 newcomers to their 2025 roster, including five true freshmen and five transfers while 18 Ramblers returned.  
  • At the helm of the program is head coach Jon Sandoval in his first season at Loyola. 

SCOUTING REPORT 
At the No. 2 seed, Saint Louis tallied five shutouts in A-10 play and had six goals allowed against conference opponents. The Billikens' only league loss was a 2-0 shutout by the Dayton Flyers in Saint Louis (Oct. 16).  

The defending A-10 Tournament champions have 13 different goal scorers, led by redshirt senior Julia Simon with six; sophomore Kim Hope paces the team in shots behind 38. Starting goalkeeper Emma Parker has 36 total saves and a 0.78 GAA through 18 games played.  

SERIES HISTORY 
Saint Louis leads the series, 5-0-2, with Loyola and the Billikens are 3-0 at Hermann Stadium against the Ramblers. In the most recent matchup, Loyola and Saint Louis played to a scoreless draw for the second tie in the all-time series. Deardorff made eight saves between the posts, and the Ramblers got three shots off compared to the Billikens' 15.  

The Ramblers and Billikens met in the A-10 tournament for the first time in the 2023 quarterfinals round in Saint Louis where Loyola fell 3-0 to SLU.
