CHICAGO (November 25, 2018) – Loyola University Chicago returns home for the first time in two weeks on Monday evening when it entertains Chicago State inside Gentile Arena. The 7 p.m. tip-off against the Cougars opens up a brief two-game homestand for the Maroon & Gold and starts a stretch that will see the Ramblers play three of their next four games in Rogers Park.

Bowling Green shot just under 54 percent from the field as it handed Loyola an 88- 74 setback last Tuesday at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Ellie Rice scored a team-high 18 points to pace a quartet of Ramblers to reach double figures in scoring in the defeat that also included
Abby O'Connor (16 points),
Kat Nolan (14 points) and
Allison Day (10 points).
LOYOLA – CHICAGO STATE – THE SERIES
Monday's homestand opener marks the 23rd meeting between Loyola and Chicago State, a series in which the Ramblers own a 18-4 advantage in, having won seven straight games over the Cougars. When the two teams met last season at the Jones Convocation Center on Chicago's South Side, Loyola rolled to a 46-28 victory behind a game-high 19 points from
Jessica Cerda. The Ramblers turned in one of their top defensive showings in program history in the win, limiting the hosts to just 17 percent (10-of-59) shooting from the field.
COUGARS CHARGING ON
Chicago State, under the direction of first-year head coach Misty Opat, enters the week at 0-5 on the year. The Cougars are coming off a 90-45 defeat at the hands of UAB last Tuesday at the Jones Convocation Center. Tyeshia Bowers and Taylor Robinson have proven to be a venerable one-two punch on the offensive end for Chicago State early on this season. Bowers averages a team-best 18.5 points, a mark that is tied for the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) lead. Robinson also resides in double figures, chipping in 10.0 ppg, while Ines Mata Boix has been a force on the glass, collecting a WAC-best 12.6 caroms per game to go along with a team-high 16 blocks.

Loyola is back in action on the Gentile Arena hardwood at 11 a.m. on Thursday when it hosts Purdue Fort Wayne on "Field Trip Day with the Ramblers". Following their matchup with the Mastodons, the Ramblers will venture back out on the road to take on Western Michigan on Monday, December 3.
