LOYOLA – PURDUE FORT WAYNE – THE SERIES

The Ramblers hold a 8-4 record (.667) in 12 meetings with current Summit League members. When Loyola and Purdue Fort Wayne met last season in Fort Wayne, Ind., the Mastodons held on for a 79-70 victory over the Maroon & Gold.

FEEL THE RUMBLE
Purdue Fort Wayne dropped a 57-49 decision to visiting SIUE last Saturday that has the Mastodons sitting at 3-4 on the year. Third-year head coach Niecee Nelson's team was picked to finish ninth in the Summit League Preseason Poll after finishing the 2017-18 campaign at 4-24 (1-13 Summit League). Loyola will be tasked with slowing down guard De'Jour Young, who currently leads Purdue Fort Wayne in both scoring (12.9 ppg) and rebounding (6.6 rpg). Young has already reached the 20-point mark twice this season, highlighted by a 22-point effort in the Mastodons' season-opening 87-50 rout of IU Kokomo on November 6. Nelson's group has also received support on the offensive end from the trio of Kierstyn Repp (9.7 pgg), Sh'Toya Sanders (8.3 ppg), a transfer from Chicago State, and Jaelencia Willaims (8.3 ppg).
UP NEXT
Loyola will visit Kalamazoo, Mich. on Monday evening for a 6 p.m. (CT) matchup against Western Michigan at University Arena. The Ramblers return to Gentile Arena just three days later (December 6) to take on SIUE at 7 p.m.
