CHICAGO (December 5, 2018) –
Currently riding a four-game winning streak, Loyola University Chicago will head out on the road for the final time during non-conference play on Sunday afternoon as it takes on Purdue inside Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind. at 1 p.m. (CT).

LAST TIME OUT
Loyola overcame a tough night offensively to pick up a 56-43 win over SIUE this past Thursday at Gentile Arena.  Abby O'Connor paced the Ramblers with 14 points in the victory, while Tiara Wallace (13 points) and Janae Gonzales (10 points) also reached double figures in scoring.  Wallace corralled a team-high 10 rebounds en route to her second double- double of the season.

LOYOLA – PURDUE – THE SERIES
Loyola and Purdue have met three times prior to Sunday's meeting as part of an all-time series that dates back to a 77-66 Boilermaker victory on December 3, 1982.  Purdue holds an unblemished 3-0 record in the previous three matchups between the two teams, the last of which came during the 1991-92 season.  Today's meeting with Purdue marks Loyola's first against a Big Ten Conference opponent since an 81-72 setback to then No. 12/14 Northwestern on December 13, 2016.  The Ramblers own a 3-47 (.060) mark against current members of the league.

BOILER UP
Purdue enters Sunday's matchup with Loyola at 6-3 on the year following an 80-73 road loss at Ohio last Wednesday in Athens, Ohio.  The Boilermakers, under the direction of head coach Sharon Versyp, are coming off a 2017-18 season that saw them finish 18-14 overall (9-8 B1G) as they advanced to the Round of 16 of the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) before bowing out to in-state rival Indiana, 73-51.  Purdue is led by the pairing of Ae'Rianna Harris and Dominique Oden, both of whom were named Preseason All-Big Ten honorees. Harris was named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year last season, rejecting a league-best 105 shots, while Oden paced the attack for the Boilermakers on the offensive end, averaging a team-high 14.1 points while scoring at least 20 points in nine of the team's final 15 games of the season.

UP NEXT
After taking a break for final exams, Loyola will return to action on Sunday, December 16 when it hosts UMKC at 12 p.m.  Halftime of the game against the Kangaroos will feature the program's inaugural Teddy Bear Toss in conjunction with Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.  Fans who bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal will receive $7 tickets to the day's doubleheader, which concludes when Loyola's men's team takes on Norfolk State at 3 p.m.
