CHICAGO (March 15, 2018) - Following a weekend split in California, sixth-ranked Loyola wraps up a three-game road swing when it takes on local rival No. 8 Lewis on Saturday night inside Neil Carey Arena in Romeoville, Ill. The Ramblers bounced back from a 24-26, 23-25, 25-17, 23-25 setback at No. 14 Concordia Irvine last Friday by throttling No. 7 Pepperdine, 25-21, 26-24, 25-20, less than 24 hours later. Saturday's game against the Flyers features as part of a grueling finish to the 2018 regular season that sees Loyola play seven of its final nine matches away from Rogers Park.

Series Stuff
Loyola and Lewis will meet for the 57th time on Saturday night. The Ramblers hold a 34-22 edge in the all-time series, including a 14-12 record in Romeoville. When the two teams met earlier this season, Loyola hit a blistering .449 as it rolled to the aforementioned victory over Lewis.Â
Ricky Gevis hammered a season-high tying 16 kills in the victory, while Colin Mahan also reached double figures, chipping in 11 kills.Â

Scouting Lewis
Lewis, who enters the weekend at 14-7 overall and 5-2 in MIVA play, finished with a 1-2 mark at the Outrigger Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii last weekend. The Flyers dropped decisions to No. 2 Hawaii, 12-25, 22-25, 19-25, and No. 4 BYU, 15-25, 25-18, 23-25, 24-26, before bouncing back for a 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22 victory over No. 11 Penn State. Saturday's game will serve as Lewis first conference game since a 25-17, 25-19, 25-10 sweep at the hands of the Ramblers back on February 28 at Gentile Arena. Redshirt sophomore outside hitter Ryan Coenen leads the Lewis attack, averaging a team-best 3.58 kills per set. Redshirt freshman middle blocker Tyler Mitchem chips in 1.16 blocks per set to go along with 1.90 kills per set.
