PEORIA, Ill. (March 23, 2018) -

In Short…

Shannon McGee knocked in three runs as Loyola University Chicago (14-11, 2-2 MVC) picked up a 7-5 victory over Bradley (12-15, 1-2 MVC) this morning at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria, Ill.

How It Happened
Bradley jumped out to an early lead on a cool overcast morning in Central Illinois.  Singles from Maria Schroeder and Stacia Seeton, respectively, each plated a run as the hosts opened up a 2-0 edge.

Three straight walks, all with two outs, set the table for a McGee single that brought home both Ashley Parenti and Emily Borg to knot the score up at 2-2.  Following a base hit by Jordan Cordell that again loaded the bases, Katie Kasubke reached on an error that allowed McGee and Katie Polaski to come home, giving the Ramblers a 4-2 edge.  Allyson Ivey capped off the six-run frame with a double to left center that saw Kasubke and Cordell come home to push the margin to 6-2.

Kiley Jones kept the Bradley bats quiet as the game wore as Loyola upped its advantage to 7-2 on a base hit from McGee that plated Caitlin Engelking.  Allison Apke belted a three-run home run with one out in the seventh to make things interesting and trim the Loyola lead to 7-5 but Jones would slam the door shut from that point forward as Loyola climbed back to the .500 mark in Valley play.

Looking At The Numbers
- McGee finished a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, finishing with the aforementioned three RBIs.
- Ivey also chipped in a pair of RBIs.
- Jones gave up five runs, all of which were earned, in seven innings en route to her 11th victory of the season.

Up Next
