CHICAGO (April 3, 2018) -
Loyola wraps up the 2018 regular season this week with road matches at Lindenwood and Quincy. The eighth-ranked Ramblers, who enter the week tied with No. 7 Ohio State for the lead atop the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) standings, are looking for their first conference title since 2014. The Ramblers have dominated the series history with both Lindenwood and Quincy, going a combined 66-5 (.930) against the Lions and Hawks. Loyola is 22-4 (.846) all-time when playing those teams on their home floors.

Over the last four matches, senior opposite Ricky Gevis is putting up 3.07 kills, 1.50 digs, 1.00 blocks and 0.36 service aces per set. The 6-foot-11 Gevis has been a force this season since returning from a shoulder injury, tallying 10 or more kills on 11 occasions. He drilled 13 kills against Quincy at Gentile Arena on February 9.

Scouting Lindenwood
Lindenwood comes into Thursday's contest with Loyola on a five-match losing slide and is seeking its first win since a 3-0 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) on March 9. The Lions are just 3-7 at home this year and have dropped five of their last six contests at Robert F. Hyland Arena.

Loyola has dominated the series with Lindenwood, winning 18 of the previous 19 meetings between the teams. When the clubs last squared off in St. Charles however, on March 4, 2017, the Lions earned their first win over the Ramblers.

Sophomore middle blocker Sam Schindler (1.81 kills per set) leads a balanced Lindenwood attack that features five players with 100 or more kills.

Scouting Quincy
After opening the season with an 8-3 record, Quincy has stumbled to a 4-13 mark and has dropped its last four matches in straight sets. The Hawks are winless in eight matches this season versus teams ranked in the AVCA Division I-II Poll.

The Ramblers have won each of the last 19 meetings with Quincy, which is looking for its first win over Loyola since April 15, 2011. Loyola is 48-4 all-time versus Quincy and has posted an 18-3 ledger at Pepsi Arena.

Senior outside hitter Anthony Winter leads the Hawks with 3.30 kills per set, while adding 1.66 digs per set.
