CHICAGO (August 26, 2018) -Â The Loyola Ramblers return to the field on Monday afternoon for the 2018 home opener against Cleveland State. The contest against the Vikings is scheduled for 4 p.m. and begins one of two four-game homestands this season at Loyola Soccer Park.
Promotions: The first 100 students that attend the match receive a free slice of pizza courtesy of J.B. Alberto's. There will also be a transportation shuttle service that will be picking up students at the campus shuttle stop near Fr. Damen statue starting at 3 p.m.

Last Time Out:Â The Ramblers dropped their season-opening match on August 24 to No. 14/8 Western Michigan. Junior
Josh Lagudah got the start in goal for the Ramblers and notched three saves in his debut rocking the Maroon and Gold. Freshman
Bradyn Knutson made his collegiate debut as well and picked up his first career shot on goal. The Ramblers and Broncos were physical in their play, racking up a combined 41 fouls that saw 17 of them assessed to Loyola.

Series Stuff: Loyola and Cleveland State's history goes back to 1995 and began with a Ramblers 3-1 victory, and has since seen the Maroon and Gold hold a 13-9-0 all-time series lead. The two teams have not seen each other since 2012 when the Vikings took both contests, one of them 3-2 in overtime. The longest series winning streak between the two teams is held by the Ramblers, a mark set at seven consecutive victories over the course of the 2004-08 seasons. Loyola also holds the largest margin of victory with a pair of 5-0 wins – once in 1999 and the other in 2008.

After This:Â The Ramblers are off from game action until Friday night when the program hosts the Hampton Inn at Loyola Chicago Classic this Labor Day weekend. This Friday's tilt will be the battle of the Loyolas with the Ramblers squaring off against Loyola Marymount Aug. 31 at 7:30, followed by Oakland at 5 p.m. on Sept. 2.
