CHICAGO (August 9, 2018) – "The Iron 5," a documentary about the 1963 Loyola University Chicago men's basketball team that not only won the NCAA championship, but also helped shatter racial barriers, will be screened this weekend at the Black Harvest Film Festival in Chicago.

Produced by Chicago native Rino Liberatore, "The Iron 5" takes a look at the 1963 Ramblers squad that featured four African-American starters and played in one of the most historic contests in college basketball history when it faced Mississippi State in the NCAA Regional in a game that would later be dubbed "The Game of Change."

The 24th Annual Black Harvest Film Festival provides a platform for African and African-American-inspired films by independent filmmakers to be screened. A 22-minute film, "The Iron 5" will be shown at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11 and again on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. Both showings will take place at the Gene Siskel Film Center, which is located at 164 N. State Street in Chicago.
