CHICAGO (October 16, 2019) –
Marius Kullmann (Fulda, Germany/Marianum Fulda) a senior on the Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team, has been highlighted as one of two featured student-athletes in this week's Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight presented by Enterprise Bank & Trust Company.

Kullmann has started in all 12 matches this season and is tied for second in the MVC with a career-high three assists. The 5'8 defender has also contributed to four shutouts on the Ramblers backline. Throughout his career, he has started in 63 of 67 matches, contributed to 29 shutouts and recorded eight assists.
The Fulda, Germany native has been a standout in the classroom, pursuing a degree in Finance and International Business with a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average. As a junior, he earned 2018 Google Cloud CoSIDA All-America honors, All-District honors and the MVC Men's Soccer First Team Scholar-Athlete Award.

Through the men's soccer team Kullmann has been very active in the community, volunteering with Cycle for Survival, Misericordia Heart of Mercy and soup kitchens and homeless shelters in the Chicago area.

To qualify for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, student-athletes must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.20, compete at least one academic year at a Valley institution, and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. In addition to academic qualifications, student-athletes are evaluated on their campus involvement and community service.
