CHICAGO (October 30, 2019) – Max O'Meara (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South), a senior on the Loyola University Chicago men's cross country team, has been named as one of 10 fall sport recipients of the Missouri Valley Conference State Farm Good Neighbor Award, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced on Wednesday.

Bob Thurnhoffer said. "He represents everything it means to be a Rambler on the course, in the classroom, and in the community. He's an exceptional young man with a very bright future ahead."
A local product out of nearby Downers Grove, Ill., O'Meara has seen action in a pair of meets this season for the Maroon & Gold. He posted a 12
th-place finish at the season-opening Crusader Collegiate, finishing in 19:01.2 to help the Ramblers to a runner-up finish at the event.
O'Meara also excels both in the classroom and in the community. A member of both the Maroon & Gold Society and professional pre-medical fraternity Phi Delta Epsilon, he sports a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average as a Biochemistry major and Philosophy minor. O'Meara has completed over 300 hours of community service, most recently serving in the medical tent at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
Loyola is back in action on Saturday, November 2 at the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship in Valparaiso, Ind.
