CHICAGO — The Loyola University Chicago men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday at Oklahoma State University's Greiner Family Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla.
The women's 6K championship race will start at 9 a.m. CT, followed by the men's 10K at 10 a.m. CT. Both races will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live results also available.
Last year, James Lawrence led the Ramblers with a 14th-place finish in the men's 10K, helping Loyola to a fifth-place team finish. Grace Kuhn paced the women with a 23rd-place finish in the 6K, contributing to a ninth-place team result.
Loyola enters Friday off a dominant performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships, where both squads swept the conference titles at Dayton's Elvin R. King Cross Country Course — the program's third sweep in four years. The men won with 28 points, led by senior William Sinclair (2nd) and four teammates finishing in the top 10. The women defended their crown with 51 points, highlighted by Roisin Treacy (2nd) and two teammates in the top seven.
Five Ramblers on the men's team and three on the women's squad earned All-Conference honors, while Head Coach Gavin Kennedy was named Atlantic 10 Cross Country Coach of the Year for both teams.
The regional championships serve as a gateway to the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. The top two teams in each regional earn automatic bids, while the next four highest-finishing teams not already qualified also advance. Teams that do not secure an automatic bid may still be selected as one of 13 at-large teams, and only two individual at-larges are chosen, making a strong regional showing critical.
Runners finishing in the top 25 individually at regionals are eligible for USTFCCCA All-Region honors. Advancing teams and individuals will compete at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, in Columbia, Mo.
