CHICAGO (November 13, 2019) – Baylor Hebb, a 6-foot-2 sharpshooting guard from Heritage High School in Colleyville, Texas, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Loyola University Chicago, Ramblers head men's basketball coach
Porter Moser announced today. Hebb will join the Loyola program for the 2020-21 season.
"Baylor is a dynamic guard who can do so many different things," Moser said. "He is very creative off the dribble and combines that with a shooter's touch. But, his competitive spirit and winning mentality, coupled with his high character, is why he is a perfect fit for our program. From the beginning of the recruiting process, the fit was mutual. Baylor was looking for a winning program with a family atmosphere and we were seeking a high-character young man who was a winner. We have been successful with recruiting and developing multi-dimensional, high-level guards and that perfectly describes Baylor."
Rated by Rivals.com as a three-star player and the No. 38 shooting guard in the country, Hebb averaged 21.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game as a junior at Heritage High School, connecting on 55 percent of his field goal attempts, including 46 percent from three-point territory.
That outstanding performance earned Hebb a multitude of postseason honors, including, but not limited to, Texas 7-5A Offensive Player of the Year, First Team Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-Region and he was also named NY2LA Basketball Association Offensive Player of the Year.
Hebb's signing continues Loyola's trend of impressive recruiting classes under Moser, which have produced three Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team selections over the last two years.
Loyola, which has won back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference regular-season titles, returns to the hardwood Saturday (Nov. 16) when it welcomes Jesuit rival Saint Joseph's to Gentile Arena.
