Marius Kullmann Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

Kullmann received the honor for the second time in his career.

AUSTIN, Texas (December 5, 2019)Marius Kullmann (Fulda, Germany/Marianum Fulda) has been named a CoSIDA Academic All-American for the second time in his career, the organization announced Thursday. Kullmann earned first team honors this year after previously being named to the third team in 2018.
 
The senior defender is only the second Loyola University Chicago student-athlete in history to earn the honor twice and the third Loyola men's soccer team member following Markian Zyga (2007) and Will Martin (2010). Kullmann is also one of 11 Loyola University Chicago student-athletes to be recognized as a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
 
The Fulda, Germany native served as a key fixture in the Ramblers defense this season, starting in all 20 matches, recording a season-high three assists and contributing to seven shutouts. Throughout his career he started in 70 of 72 matches, recorded eight assists and contributed to 32 shutouts. Kullmann is pursuing a degree in Finance and International Business with a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average and was also named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team for the second time this season.

For the third-straight year, the Missouri Valley Conference led the nation with five honorees on the list, placing all five players on the first team. The Valley nearly had over half of the first-team honorees placing five of the 11 honored players.
