CHICAGO (July 22, 2019) – Clayton Custer (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest/Iowa State), who helped lead Loyola University Chicago to the 2018 Final Four during his stellar collegiate career, has signed a professional contract to play for WKS Slask Wroclaw in Poland. Custer is the third former Rambler to sign a pro deal this summer, joining Tracy Robinson (Brazil) and Jordan Hicks (France).

During his three-year career at Loyola after transferring from Iowa State University, the 6-foot-1 point guard totaled 1,186 points and 318 assists, earning Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year accolades in 2017-18 and Third Team All-MVC recognition in 2018-19. He helped the Ramblers to consecutive postseason appearances for the first time in over half a century and the program's first-ever back-to-back regular-season conference crowns.

Custer closed out his college career by averaging 11.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game in 2018-19, while capturing Google Cloud Third Team Academic All-America status. In April, he won the Men's 3-Point Championship at the State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships at the Final Four in Minneapolis. Loyola notched 20 wins in 2018-19, secured a share of the MVC regular-season title and earned a berth in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

His 2017-18 campaign was one of the best by a point guard in Loyola annals. In addition to being the floor general for a Ramblers squad that notched a school-record 32 victories and advanced to the NCAA Final Four for the first time since 1963, Custer was an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America honoree and also took home Lou Henson Mid-Major Player of the Year, National Jesuit Player of the Year and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-District distinction. He finished the year with averages of 13.2 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 4.1 apg and 1.5 spg, while shooting 52.8 percent (160-for-303) from the field and 45.1 percent (60-for-133) from three-point distance.
