COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 12, 2019) – Former Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball All-Americans Thomas Jasechke (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) and
Jeff Jendryk (Wheaton, Ill./St. Francis) helped the U.S. Men's National Team qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Sunday.
The U.S. squad, ranked No. 2 in the world, defeated No. 15 Netherlands 25-18, 25-20, 17-25, 25-21 at the FIVB qualification tournament in Rotterdam. Jaeschke recorded three kills in the win.

Jaeschke previously competed in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and captured a bronze medal with Team USA after playing a key role on Loyola's 2014 and 2015 NCAA championship teams. The outside hitter was a two-time All-American in his career as well as AVCA Player of the Year in 2015. He played three seasons with the Ramblers before beginning his professional career.
As a freshman in 2015, Jendryk took home Most Outstanding Player accolades after his performance in the NCAA tournament. The middle blocker graduated last spring and is the only player in program history to be a four-time AVCA All-America honoree and just one of 12 players in NCAA Division I-II history to be a four-time All-American.
This marks the 10th straight time the U.S. Men have qualified for the Olympic Games and 12th time overall. The U.S. Men have won three Olympic gold medals (1984, '88 and 2008) and two bronze (1992 and 2016).
