CHICAGO (September 17, 2019) - Looking to claim their first win in conference play, the Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team will head south to Evansville this week. The Maroon & Gold will visit McCutchan Stadium on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. to face the Purple Aces. 

Last Time Out: Loyola picked up an impressive result against Redline Rival DePaul last Friday, beating them 4-2. Sophomore Billy Hency tallied two goals and one assist against the Blue Demons, his firsts of the season. The win also marks the eighth-straight at home for the Ramblers, who haven't lost at Loyola Soccer Park since Sept. 7, 2018. Friday's match against DePaul was truly a team effort, as senior Aidan Megally and junior Justin Sukow also tallied a goal and an assist to secure the win for the Maroon & Gold.

vs. Evansville: Under the direction of fifth year head coach Marshall Ray, the Purple Aces currently sit at 2-2-1 this season. Evansville recently defeated UNC Asheville, 1-0 on Saturday with the lone goal coming from senior Jesse Lacey-Stafford, who has a team-high three goals this season. Four Purple Aces have also found the back of the net this season, including Ryan Harris, Filip Johansson, Matic Pavlic and Simon Paez Abedanck. The Purple Aces were picked fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll following a 4-8-7 campaign (2-2-2 MVC) in 2018. Returners Lacey-Stafford and Ben Weber led Evansville last season with three goals each. 

Series Stuff: Loyola and Evansville will meet for the 22nd time on Wednesday night. The Purple Aces hold a 4-17-1 edge over the Ramblers, who hosted the last match-up at Loyola Soccer Park on Sept. 20, 2018. Loyola defeated Evansville, 3-0 on senior night, led by two goals from Aidan Megally and one from Fabian Becerra. The Maroon & Gold have a slight edge over Evansville in the last six meetings, going 3-2-1.
