CHICAGO (September 3, 2019) – Loyola University Chicago's 2019-20 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball schedule was announced today. The Ramblers, who have claimed at least a share of each of the last two MVC regular-season titles, open conference play December 30 when they visit Valparaiso.
Following the Valley opener at Valpo, the Ramblers return to Gentile Arena to begin a stretch that will see them play three of their next four contests on their home floor, beginning with a showdown with Missouri State (Jan. 4), the only team to sweep the regular-season series from Loyola last season. A midweek trip to Drake (Jan. 7) briefly interrupts the homestand, which includes showdowns with Evansville (Jan. 11) and Southern Illinois (Jan. 16).
Three of Loyola's next four games will be played on the road – at Illinois State (Jan. 19), versus Indiana State (Jan. 22), at UNI (Jan. 26) and at Southern Illinois (Jan. 29). The game with the in-state rival Salukis closes out competition for the first month of the calendar year.
Loyola alternates home and road games in its first four outings in February – versus Bradley (Feb. 1), at Indiana State (Feb. 5), versus Valparaiso (Feb. 9) and at Evansville (Feb. 12). The homestretch of the season will see the Ramblers play three of the final five contests at Gentile Arena. Home games against UNI (Feb. 15) and Illinois State (Feb. 19) precede a visit to Missouri State (Feb. 22) and the Ramblers wrap up the regular-season slate by hosting Drake (Feb. 25) and heading to east central Illinois to tangle with Bradley (Feb. 29).
Missouri Valley Conference Championship play will once again take place at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, March 5-8.
