CHICAGO (September 5, 2019) – Loyola University Chicago head men's basketball coach
Porter Moser as well as team chaplain and recent centenarian Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, BVM, will be recognized when the Chicago Cubs take on the Cincinnati Reds September 18, as part of the evening's Loyola University Chicago Special Ticket Offer.
Moser, who is entering his ninth season as Loyola's head coach, will throw a first pitch prior to the game and also will lead the crowd with "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," during the 7
thinning stretch. A native of Naperville, Ill., Moser guided the Ramblers to an unforgettable run to the NCAA Final Four in 2018 and has piloted the program to back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time in 55 years.
Meanwhile, Sister Jean, who became an international celebrity during Loyola's 2018 NCAA tournament run, celebrated her 100
thbirthday August 21. Sister Jean has served as the Ramblers' team chaplain since 1994 and she will be recognized during the pregame ceremony on September 18.
