How It Happened
Loyola set the tone for the match early in the first set, beginning with a 5-0 scoring run to lead 8-2. Joslyn and
Kyle Piekarski each had four kills to push the Ramblers to a .667 attack percentage, their highest in a set all season. An ace from
Luke Denton and Joslyn gave the Ramblers a comfortable 13-4 lead to force an Urbana timeout. The Ramblers maintained their energy to win set one, 25-12.

The Ramblers momentum carried into set two as Loyola dominated out of the gate with a 5-0 run that eventually became a 9-1 run. In due time, Loyola snagged a 10 point lead, 15-5 following two
Andrew Lyons aces and a kill each from
Ian Cowen and Piekarski. The Ramblers led by 12 points twice in the set and went on to a second set victory, 25-16.
Set three presented a bigger challenge as Urbana came out fighting. The teams were neck and neck for a larger part of the set, until the Ramblers took the largest lead, 18-14 from a Cowen ace. Joslyn powered the Ramblers with seven kills in the third set and they were able to shut it down, 25-19.
