CHICAGO (December 11, 2020) – With the 2020-21 season in full swing, the Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team will make its first appearance of the campaign at Gentile Arena on Friday, December 18 when it plays host to Purdue Northwest, head coach
Kate Achter announced on Friday. Fans will not be permitted inside Gentile Arena for the 7 p.m. tip-off but can watch the action on either ESPN3 or ESPN+.
The Ramblers and Pride will meet for the first time in a regular-season contest next week. Loyola last battled Purdue Northwest, then known as Purdue-Calumet, in an exhibition tilt on November 4, 2007, cruising to a 99-53 victory in Rogers Park.
Under the direction of second-year head coach Courtney Locke, Purdue Northwest finished the 2019-20 season at 6-22 overall, a record that included a 5-15 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. The Pride returns its top four leading scorers from last year, a quartet highlighted by Savaya Brockington, who averaged a team-high 14.3 points.
Coming off a 70-57 win over Chicago State in its regular-season opener back on November 28, Loyola returns to action this Sunday when it battles No. 24/23 DePaul at 3 p.m. inside Wintrust Arena.
