Tiara Wallace Tabbed MVC Player Of The Week By College Sports Madness

Senior guard averaged 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists last week

CHICAGO (February 10, 2020) – Coming off a pair of standout performances, Loyola University Chicago senior Tiara Wallace (Berkeley, Ill./Montini Catholic) has been recognized as College Sports Madness' Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the organization announced on Monday.

Wallace averaged 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists, all team-best marks, as Loyola picked up wins over Indiana State and Evansville last week to open the second half of its Valley schedule.

In Thursday's 65-55 win over the Sycamores, Wallace was one of three Ramblers to score in double figures, finishing with 13 points (3-6 FGs, 1-2 3FGs, 6-7 FTs), seven rebounds, and six assists.  The Berkeley, Ill. native saved her best for Saturday's matchup with the Purple Aces, pouring in a career-high 26 points (10-13 FGs, 1-2 3FGs, 5-5 FTs) in addition to 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals as the Maroon & Gold rolled to a 77-47 triumph.

Wallace, who currently ranks third on the team in scoring (8.4 ppg), has averaged a team-high 13.2 points and 4.4 assists over Loyola's last five games.  The 5-foot-6 guard has 11 games of at least five assists to her name this season, a category in which she ranks ninth all-time in program history with 360 career helpers.

Loyola visits Central Illinois this weekend to take on Illinois State (February 14) and Bradley (February 16).
