How It Happened

Game One: Loyola 11, Omaha 3
First-year head coach Alicia Abbott picked up her first victory as a collegiate head coach on Friday, guiding the Ramblers to an 11-3 win over Nebraska-Omaha. The Maroon & Gold scored six runs alone in the first inning against Omaha before taking an 8-0 advantage after two innings.

Game Two: Miami 10, Loyola 8
Miami took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but Loyola answered with four runs in the bottom of the first. After a pair of hits from Ebeling and McGee, a wild pitch from Miami scored one run and advanced McGee to third. Continuing the momentum on a walk and a stolen base from Allyson Ivey, Emily Borg crushed an RBI single up the middle to send McGee home. Katie Polaski came up the plate and cleared the bases on a triple play, putting Loyola up 4-1.

The score remained 4-1 until Miami tied the game at four runs in the top of the third before Loyola posted two runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-4 lead.

After a walk from Nova Sinskul and a single from Jessica Shields, Ebeling cranked out a two RBI double.

After the Ramblers manufactured their lone run of the game from Shields, the rest of the game would remain scoreless. Junior pitcher Madison Veres came in for six innings of relief, only surrendering two hits and no runs.
