MVC Announces Postponements; Scheduling Adjustment for Women's Basketball

Loyola's matchups with Southern Illinois moved to January 30-31

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (January 14, 2021) – The Missouri Valley Conference has postponed the Southern Illinois-Loyola women's basketball series (Jan. 15-16) from Gentile Arena, in Chicago, Ill., and the Southern Illinois-Valparaiso women's basketball series (Jan. 22-23) from Banterra Center in Carbondale, Ill., due to positive COVID-19 test results among Southern Illinois' Tier I personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff. 
 
The Conference has also announced rescheduling dates for each series, and all four games will air on The Valley on ESPN.   The Conference had selected the Jan. 15 match-up between Southern Illinois and Loyola as a digital exclusive production for ESPN, but will instead produce the Jan. 30 contest between the two schools from Chicago.
 
Saturday, Jan. 30 -- Southern Illinois at Loyola, 1 pm CT
Sunday, Jan. 31 -- Southern Illinois at Loyola, 5 pm CT
Saturday, Feb. 27 -- Valparaiso at Southern Illinois, TBD
Sunday, Feb. 28 -- Valparaiso at Southern Illinois, TBD
 
 MVC athletically-related activities will take place only to the extent permitted by local environments and applicable national, state, local and institutional guidelines in order to safeguard the health and safety of participants, staff and fans.  Schedule updates throughout the season will be posted on mvc-sports.com.
 
Loyola (3-3, 1-1 MVC) is scheduled to return to action when it travels to Peoria, Ill. to battle Bradley, January 22-23.
