Murrin Heads South For Return To NCAA Championships

Senior punched ticket to national meet at NCAA Midwest Regional last Friday

CHICAGO (November 18, 2021) – Loyola University Chicago senior Anneka Murrin will add another chapter to her decorated career with the Maroon & Gold on Saturday, November 20 when competes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fla.
 
The 2021 edition of the national meet will be hosted by Florida State University at Apalachee Regional Park, with the women's 6k race set for 9:20 a.m. (CT).  ESPNU's coverage of the NCAA Championships will begin at 9 a.m. (CT).
 
Out of Yarmouth, Maine, Murrin punched her ticket to The Sunshine State following an 11th-place finish (20:56.68) at the NCAA Midwest Regional this past Friday that earned her United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region accolades.  Just two weeks earlier, she became the first student-athlete in history of the Missouri Valley Conference to win three straight individual league titles, leading the Ramblers to a third consecutive Valley team title in the process.
 
Murrin, who joined Gina Valgoi (2012) and Lindsey Brewis (2018) as one of only three female student-athletes in program history to compete at the NCAA Championships, is the first two-time national meet qualifier in Rambler annals.
