Ramblers Dominate Golden Grizzlies, 10-1

Loyola uses six-run third inning to take the lead and pull away for second win of 2021

NASHVILLE (March 6, 2021)

In Short
Loyola University Chicago (2-7) used a six-run third inning to take the lead and break the game open en route to a 10-1 victory over Oakland (0-3) today at the Purple & Gold Challenge. The Ramblers have won two of their last three outings.

How It Happened
Oakland struck first when Jen Krizka smacked a one-out single in the top of the first inning to score Madison Jones, who has hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.
The score would stay that way until Loyola exploded for six runs in the bottom of the third. Back-to-back doubles from Allyson Ivey and Nova Sinskul opened the inning and Hannah Nalley followed with a RBI single to put the Ramblers ahead for good and later in the inning, Tori Boysen and Abbey Jacobsen cracked run-scoring singles as part of the big inning.
Loyola put the game away in the bottom of the fourth by pushing across four runs, highlighted by Jacobsen's second RBI single of the game.
