CHICAGO (April 3, 2021) – The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team (4-3-2, 3-2-1 MVC) goes after its second victory of the week on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Evansville to Loyola Soccer Park.  Prior the 2 p.m. kickoff, the Ramblers will honor their senior class in a special ceremony.
 
Last Time Out: Redshirt sophomore Michael Hong scored just 68 seconds into overtime to cap off a thrilling 3-2 win for Loyola over Bradley this past Wednesday at Shea Stadium in Peoria, Ill.  Goals in the first half from junior Billy Hency and sophomore Andrew Mitchell staked the Maroon & Gold to an early 2-0 lead, before Bradley battled back to force overtime, where Hong would have the final say. 
 
vs. Evansville: Evansville enters Sunday's matchup with the Ramblers still in search of its first win on the year, sitting at 0-7-1 overall and 0-5-1 in Missouri Valley Conference play.  Under the direction of head coach Marshall Ray, the Purple Aces are coming off a 4-1 setback to No. 8 Missouri State this past Tuesday at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville, Ind. Pablo Guillen tallied the lone Evansville goal in the defeat during the second half.  Guillen has proven to be the focal point of the attack for Ray's team this season.  The midfielder has racked up a team-high four goals, a mark that ranks second overall in The Valley.  Nicholas Likulia also has a goal to his name, while Ethan Garvey and Matic Pavlic have both dished out assists.  Matt Bryant and Jacob Madden have split time in goal for Evansville this season, with Bryant holding a team-low 2.15 goals against average.
 
Series Stuff: Loyola has rattled off four straight wins over Evansville to trim the Purple Aces' lead in the all-time series between the two teams to 17-7-1 (.700).  Prior to becoming MVC rivals, the two teams met 12 times as members of the former Midwestern Collegiate Conference (MCC) from 1982-1993.  Loyola will be in search of a season sweep over Evansville after picking up a 2-0 win over the Purple Aces back on March 9 in Evansville, Ind.  Sophomore Alex Moskal put the Ramblers on the board in the 11th minute, before senior Giann Magno added a second for the Maroon & Gold shortly before the hour mark.
