CHICAGO (July 6, 2021) – Trinity Clinton (South Bend, Ind./Penn) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Loyola University Chicago, Ramblers head women's basketball coach
Kate Achter announced on Tuesday. Clinton will be eligible for competition at the start of upcoming 2021-22 season.
"Trinity is an excellent late addition to this class," Achter said. "We feel very fortunate that Trinity was still looking for the perfect match around the end of the school year and feel that she completely fits our culture and style play. She has tremendous skill, high basketball IQ, and is a wonderful teammate. We cannot wait to get Trinity on the floor with this team."
Out South Bend, Ind., Clinton starred at Penn High School under the direction of head coach Kristi Ulrich, where she finished as the program's all-time leader in both scoring (1,508) and steals (303), while also ranking in the top five in rebounds (3
rd; 501) and assists (5
th; 265). The 5-foot-8 guard helped lead the Kingsmen to four straight Northern Indiana Conference (NIC) championships in addition to four sectional crowns and two regional titles, as she ultimately finished her high school career with a staggering 99-10 (.908) overall record.
A four-time All-NIC honoree, Clinton earned a trio of All-State nods from the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sport Association (ICGSA) and was also selected as an Indiana Junior All-Star.
Clinton joins the previously announced trio of graduate transfer
Riley Blackwell and fellow freshmen
Destiny Jackson and
Maddie Scarborough. The four newcomers will join 11 returning letterwinners from 2020-21, including First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection
Allison Day and reigning MVC Freshman of the Year
Maya Chandler.
