CHICAGO (August 23, 2021) – Loyola University Chicago junior forward/midfielder Megan Nemec (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday.  This marks the second time in her career that Nemec has been honored with The Valley's top weekly offensive honor.
 
After dishing out an assist in the Ramblers' 2-1 season-opening road win over Miami (Ohio) on Thursday, Nemec turned in a dominant showing in Sunday's 3-0 rout of SIUE at Loyola Soccer Park.  The Tinley Park, Ill. native tallied a pair of goals over a 1:45 span in the early stages of the first half to give the Maroon & Gold a lead they would not relinquish.
 
The reigning MVC Player of the Year, Nemec is coming off a terrific sophomore campaign in which she fired home three goals and dished out nine assists.  Last Thursday, both she and senior Abby Swanson were named to the watch list for the prestigious Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy.
 
Off to its first 2-0-0 start since 2011, Loyola is back in action this weekend when it heads south to battle Florida Atlantic (August 27) and Florida Gulf Coast (August 29).
