CHICAGO (January 21, 2022) – After posting a handful of personal best efforts last weekend, the Loyola University Chicago track & field teams will continue their indoor schedule on Saturday at the Notre Dame Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind.

A full day of action inside the Loftus Sports Center will get underway at 11 a.m. (CT) with the men's long jump and women's weight throw. Track events are slated to begin at 12:30 p.m. (CT) with preliminary heats in the women's 60m hurdles. A full schedule of events and a live results link can be found to the right.

Slated to join the Ramblers in the field will be host Notre Dame, city rival DePaul, and local foe Lewis.

Loyola posted a trio of new top-10 marks to the Missouri Valley Conference indoor leaderboards at last Saturday's Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa. Leading the charge was sophomore
Lovie Annafi, who reached an indoor personal-best 17-05.50 (5.32m) on her first attempt the day to place fourth overall in the women's long jump and climb to sixth on The Valley chart.

On the track, the pairing of seniors
Ian Cummings and
Stephen Pipilas climbed to eight and ninth, respectively on the MVC's 3,000m run leaderboard, posting personal-best times of 8:40.19 (6
th) and 8:42.40 (7
th).

Ayoub El-Ashmawi led the charge for the Maroon & Gold in the sprinting events in The Hawkeye State, continuing the strong start to his 2021-22 season with the top 200m dash time of his collegiate career, crossing in 22.58 (18
th).

After a week off from head-to-head competition, Loyola returns to the Loftus Sports Center for the Meyo Invitational, February 4-5.
