CHICAGO (Feb. 15, 2022) – After a stellar week on the court, redshirt freshman Parker Van Buren of Loyola University Chicago Men's Volleyball comes out with three weekly awards, including AVCA Division I-II Player of the Week. 
 
Van Buren came out with one of his best weekends to date, which is saying a lot about this outstanding opposite for the Ramblers. His first night out on Thursday, Feb. 10, against the Hawks of Quincy led to 16 kills and only one error, giving him a .682 hitting percentage, the best of his career. Following that outstanding offensive performance, he came back to grab a career-best 20 kills for a .432 hitting percentage while securing a team-high five blocks against Lindenwood on Saturday, Feb. 12. 
 
With these two performances, Van Buren grabbed the National Player of the Week accolades from the AVCA as well as Freshman of the Week honors from Off The Block and MIVA Offensive Player of the Week honors. This is his second time being recognized as Offensive Player of the Week for the MIVA and also his second time being recognized by Off The Block. The last time he received Player of the Week accolades from the men's volleyball news outlet, he received Outside Hitter of the Week. This is his first time receiving AVCA Player of the Week honors.
 
The Ramblers will be on the road Thursday, Feb. 17, as they head to Columbus, Ohio, to face the Ohio State Buckeyes. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on BTN+.
