Softball Falls In Final Game Against Salukis

Loyola Softball lost 6-2 to Southern Illinois.

CARBONDALE, Ill. (March 27, 2022) – The Loyola University Chicago softball team played in their final game of this weekend series down in Carbondale, Illinois, as the Ramblers faced the Southern Illinois Salukis. With today's game, Loyola did not win any games in this series as they lost this third game 6-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
From the first inning, the game was in the hands of the Salukis. Southern Illinois struck at the bottom of the first with three runs, giving them the advantage. Loyola started fighting back in the third and sixth innings with runs of their own, but it wasn't enough to make the comeback. The Salukis ended up adding another three runs in the sixth inning to result in a 6-2 loss for Loyola. With this game, the Ramblers finished the weekend 0-3 against the Salukis. This also gives them an 8-15 overall record and 2-3 record in the Valley.
