Ramblers Continue With MIVA Play Against The Lions

Loyola Men's Volleyball will play Lindenwood University.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (March 31, 2022) – The Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball team is on the road again as they headed to Missouri to take on the Lindenwood University Lions for a MIVA competition.

LAST TIME OUT
The Ramblers were last at Lewis University as they played the Flyers for the second time this season in Romeoville. The match only went three sets as Loyola swept Lewis for the second time this season.

CLASHING WITH THE LIONS
Lindenwood has been a force in the MIVA since the start of the season. They secured key wins over Lewis and Ohio State throughout this season while also taking sets from Ball State, Loyola and Purdue Fort Wayne. The Lions are coached by Joe Kosciw, who has done a lot to revitalize this program since he took it over five years ago.

The Lions have a few individuals who have made their mark on the NCAA so far this season. Diego Negron leads the MIVA in aces per set while sitting 16th nationally with a .492 average. Along with him, Connor Sheehan ranks 17th in the NCAA when it comes to assists per set as he averages 9.67.

Not only is Negron the team's leader in aces with 31, but he also heads the team in kills. The senior outside hitter currently has 202 on the season while fellow outside hitter AJ Lewis has 152.

The Lions' defensive efforts are led in the back row by Kyle Deutschmann and in the front row by Alex Pappas. Deutschmann currently has 122 digs to his name for this season while Pappas has 54 total blocks.
