BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (April 22, 2022) – Freshman
Jason Clayton clocked a third consecutive personal best, continuing his climb towards the top of the program record board, as the Loyola University Chicago track & field teams began action at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. this evening.

Currently in the midst of a banner debut campaign with the Maroon & Gold, Clayton continued to impress under the lights tonight at the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex. The Melbourne, Australia product moved to third all-time in Loyola history in the 1,500m run, crossing in 3:42.33 to finish fifth overall in a stacked field.

Also competing in the men's 1,500m run, junior
Cameron Arkesteyn picked up his second heat victory in as many weeks, posting a six-second personal best of 3:52.53. Arkesteyn edged out freshman
Gabe Smit to lead the heat, with Smit coming through in 3:52.93, a four-second improvement from his previous top time. Graduate student
Kenny Wallace rounded out a strong showing for the Ramblers in the event, running a season-best 3:56.19.

Making her first collegiate appearance in the 5,000m, freshman
Nora Wollen turned heads with a time of 16:52.08 that unofficially ranks in the top 10 in the Missouri Valley Conference and has her just 10 seconds off a spot in the program's all-time top 10. The trio of seniors
Stephen Pipilas (14:40.88),
Nick Chudzik (14:48.81), and
Ian Cummings (14:51.25) all came in under the 15-minute mark in the men's 5,00m run.

Anneka Murrin and sophomore
Fran Hendrickson led Loyola in the women's section of the 1,500m run. Murrin posted a second straight season-best showing, finishing in 4:25.67, while Hendrickson notched a personal best for the third time in as many appearances, taking four seconds off previous top effort as she crossed in 4:42.15.

Erin Connors enjoyed a breakout performance in the 400m hurdles, surging through in 1:05.03 to move to ninth all-time in Rambler annals. Sophomore
Madi McLain added a season-best showing in the event as well, checking in at 1:06.53. Junior
Timothy Harris recorded a season best of his own on the men's side of the event, finishing in 55.33.

Melissa Parrella took home a heat win in her 200m dash debut, turning in a time of 25.23. Freshman
Petra Cokaric added a personal best, finishing just back of Parrella in 26.30. In the men's 200m dash, sophomore
Jevan Terry put up a time of 22.35, his top outdoor time in the event this season.
