Regular Season Ended For Loyola At Indiana State

Loyola Softball lost 10-0 to Indiana State.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (May 8, 2022) – The Loyola University Chicago softball team wrapped up its final regular season series in Terre Haute, Indiana, as they played the Indiana State Sycamores. After today's contest, the Ramblers ended with a 1-2 record to lose the series against the Sycamores.

With this outcome, Loyola will be the No. 8 seed in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament in Springfield, Missouri, and will take on the No. 9 seed in Evansville.

HOW IT HAPPENED
From the start off the game, the Ramblers could not get in a rhythm. Although they tried to find scoring opportunities with hits from Nova Sinskul and Tori Boysen, it wasn't enough to themselves on the board. The Maroon and Gold were also unable to stop this tough Sycamore offense, who ended this game in five innings with a home run and two doubles. By the end of these five innings, the Ramblers lost 10-0.

LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS
  • As mentioned above, Sinskul and Boysen were the only Ramblers to get on base as they both hit singles during the game. Teagan Sopczak and Abby Brown were also able to get on base due to a fielder's choices.
  • Peyton Pepkowski started in the circle today before Andie Broniewicz came in during the second inning. Both pitchers secured two strikeouts in this game.
  • Making the most defensive plays today was Boysen, who ended the game with four putouts. Sydney Barnett and Madison Ebeling were the only two Ramblers to assist on plays.
