CHICAGO (August 18, 2022) – For the second time in as many seasons, Loyola University Chicago senior Megan Nemec (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) has been selected to the watch list for the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy, it was announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday.  One of nine 2021 All-Americans on the list, Nemec was the only Atlantic 10 Conference student-athlete recognized.
 
The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.
 
Named to the United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch list earlier in the week, Nemec is coming off a 2021 campaign in which she netted eight goals and dished out six assists, both marks that led the Rambler roster.  The Tinley Park, Ill. native levied the deciding strike in four contests en route to defending her Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year crown before going on to be named only the second United Soccer Coaches All-American in program history.
 
Nemec enters her senior campaign looking to continue her climb up the program record boards in multiple categories.  The 5-foot-3 forward currently ranks in the top 10 in goals (T-6^th; 17), assists (3^rd; 20), and overall points (5^th; 54).
 
Loyola begins the 2022 season this evening at 6 p.m. when it takes on South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.
