CHICAGO (Oct. 6, 2023) – The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team ends a two-game road swing this Saturday as it faces off against Atlantic 10 foe, Dayton, in Ohio.

The two A-10 rivals will take the field tomorrow (Oct. 6) at Baujan Field. Kick is slated for 6 p.m. CT.

NOTES
- With four regular season matches left on the Ramblers 2023 docket, Loyola Chicago ends its two-game road trip with Saturday evening date with Dayton.
- After being dealt just their second loss on Sept. 30 to VCU, the Ramblers rebounded for a 3-0 road blanking of La Salle on Oct. 4.
- Despite falling to UIC and VCU at home, the Ramblers have yet to lose a match on the road this year (4-0-1).
- With seven conference points, the Ramblers are in a three-way tie with Duquesne and Dayton for the league's No. 5 spot.
- Loyola Chicago was picked to finish third in the league, according to the A-10's preseason coaches' poll, after finishing as runner-up last season.
- An impressive 11 separate Ramblers have recorded a goal while 12 have at least one assist this year.
- With just nine goals allowed thus far, Loyola holds the No. 3 spot in the league in GA (.90 pg).
- On the opposite side of the field, Loyola Chicago averages 2.200 goals per-game, leading the conference.
- The squad paces the A-10 and is fourth in the NCAA's ranking of shots per-game with 17.70. Oscar Dueso leads the team with 30.
- Nationally, the team is sixth in shots on-goal per-game (7.50).
- Dueso (3.00 pg) and Torrellas (2.70 pg) are seventh and ninth, respectively, in the A-10's top shooters.
- Noel Hansson, a defender, leads the team in minutes played with 863.
- LUC is out-scoring its foes, 22-9.
- The team is also out-shooting opponents, 177-70. The Ramblers have out-shot every foe in every match thus far.
- LUC leads the A-10 in assists (24), goals (22), points (68), and is second in shots (177).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- The Flyers enter Saturday with a 4-6-2 overall mark and a 2-1-1 record in A-10 play.
- Hjalti Sigurdsson, a graduate student midfielder, leads the team in points (9) and goals scored (4).
- Dario Caetano, the team's keeper, has allowed 17 goals and logged 33 saves through 115 shots faced. He's played a full 90 in every match for Dayton.
THE HISTORY
- In an all-time series that dates to 1987, Loyola trails Dayton, 2-5-1.
- The Ramblers haven't lost to the Flyers since the 2013 - a 4-1 road loss. However, in 2022, the two teams played to a 0-0 draw and in 2014, Loyola shutout Dayton at home, 2-0.
- Last season in the 0-0 draw, Loyola saw several scoring opportunities during a physical matchup, which marked the first meeting between the two sides in eight years, and the first meeting as league rivals. Both teams tallied 13 shots in the match, including six in the first half and seven in the second stanza but none found the back of the net. LUC keeper Simon Jillson finished with four saves, tying his season-high mark.

After its match with Dayton, the Ramblers return to the friendly confines of Rogers Park Saturday, Oct. 14, as it plays host to league-leading Saint Louis. Kick off is set for 3 p.m. CT.
