Loyola Chicago Takes on Bradley Thursday

Tip is set for 6 p.m. in Peoria

The Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team looks to get back in the win column this Thursday as the squad takes on the Bradley Braves in Peoria. The two teams are set to clash tomorrow (Nov. 15) inside Carver Arena. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. CT.

  • The 'Blers aim to rebound after falling, 74-66, this past Monday to 2023 NCAA Tournament team, Cleveland State, at home.
  • Loyola Chicago lit it up from deep, cashing in 11 of their 27 attempts from 3-point range in the loss. The Ramblers are averaging a 0.362 percentage from three.

  • Head coach Allison Guth is in her second season at the helm of Loyola with a 7-25 record. She enters her eighth year as a head coach after spending the first six seasons at Yale. Guth holds a 106-99 career head coaching record.
Scouting the Bradley Braves
With a 1-1 mark thus far, Bradley is set to host its second home game of the season Thursday against Loyola. Bradley is fresh off a 65-62 win over Central Michigan at home this past Sunday. The Braves opened the season on the road, falling, 73-66, to Kansas City. 

Kaylen Nelson paces the Braves' attack averaging 22.0 ppg. The 5-foot-10 G/F scored 31 points in the season-opening loss to KC before totaling 13 against CMU. She's made 13 of her 27 field goal attempts, shooting 48 percent from the field. Reagan Barkema leads Bradley on the glass with an average of 5.0 rebounds pg and ties the team-high in assists per game with 2.0.

The Braves surrendered 18 turnovers the last time out but crashed the glass for 39 rebounds.    

All-Time Against Bradley
Loyola Chicago trails in its all-time series with Bradley, 29-20, but won the most recent meeting - a 57-54 victory inside Gentile on Dec. 3, 2022. The win marked coach Guth's third at Loyola and 103rd overall.

In the win, LUC overcame a 13-point deficit in the triumph. Sophia Nolan tied her season-best scoring total, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double (19 points/9 rebounds) while Sam Galanopoulos scored a season-high 15 points to lead the Ramblers. 

Last Time Out
The Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team's fourth-quarter rally against Cleveland State fell short Sunday afternoon inside Gentile Arena. The Ramblers outscored the Vikings, 21-17, in the final frame, but fell, 74-66, as the final horn sounded.
