Tipping Off
Ending its two-game road swing, the Loyola Chicago women's basketball plays its third and final crosstown rival tomorrow (Nov. 29) as it takes on Northwestern inside Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. CT and will broadcast live on BTN+.

- Loyola Chicago is searching for its first-ever win over the Wildcats, having last met Nov. 17, 2021.
- Wildcats' fans will see some familiar faces in Loyola head coach, Allison Guth, and director of operations, Abi Scheid. Guth was an assistant (2013-15) under current NU head coach, Joe McKeown, while Scheid played at NU (2016-20). She was named First Team All-Big Ten her senior year.
- The two teams share a common opponent in UIC. Loyola lost to the Flames in its season opener on Nov. 6, 67-51. NU beat UIC on Nov. 9 in overtime, 92-86.
- Two Ramblers established new career-highs in LUC's most recent triumph - a 56-49 road win over Bradley: Sitori Tanin, along with posting the team's first double-double of the year, scored 22 points and snagged 14 boards to rewrite her record sheet. Additionally, Sam Galanopoulos dropped 27 points for a new career-best.
- Thanks to her career day, Galanopoulos was named the week two Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the program's first since joining the A-10. The graduate student guard was 58-percent from the floor (7-12), 50-percent from deep (2-4) and 79-percent at the line (11-14) against the Braves. She scored eight of the team's 10 points in OT, being a perfect 8-8 at the charity stripe in the extra frame.
- Tanin posted a double-double in two straight games for Loyola (points-rebounds) - against Bradley and Brown. She's scored in double-digits in all but two games for Loyola (Chicago State and DePaul).
- Entering Sunday, the 'Blers have three student-athletes averaging double-digit points: Tanin (11.8), Galanopoulos (13.5), and Alyssa Fisher (10.5).
- The team ranks No. 3 in the Atlantic 10 3-point FG percentage, shooting the deep ball at a 0.363 clip.
- Kira Chivers paces the league in 3-point field goal percentage with an average of .700. She's drained seven of her 10 triples thus far.
2023-24 Rambler Bites
- Seven letterwinners return to the roster, including three starters. The Ramblers welcome six newcomers, including two freshman and four transfers.
- In addition to new players, Loyola added assistant coach Simon Harris and assistant coach Jenna Rubino-McCormick to the program in the off-season.
- Head coach Allison Guth is in her second season at the helm of Loyola. She enters her eighth year as a head coach after spending the first six seasons at Yale.
Scouting the Northwestern Wildcats
- The Wildcats enter Wednesday after two-straight losses - against No. 13 Florida State and Belmont in the Ball Dawgs Classic. In the loss to Belmont, NU had four players score in double figures, led by Hailey Weaver, who had 13 points and four steals. Casey Harter tacked on 12 points off the bench and Caileigh Walsh helped with 11 points and eight rebounds.
- Walsh paces the Wildcats' offense, averaging 12.1 points per contest. Wood - also averaging double digits - enters the game with 10.4 ppg. She leads the team in rebounds per game (4.8) and blocks per game (1.3) as well.
Last Time Out
- In a game which featured 23 lead changes, Loyola owned a 38-37 halftime lead against DePaul, but ultimately fell, 93-72, as the final horn sounded Sunday afternoon at Wintrust Arena.
- Galanopoulos scored 20 points, her third-straight game in double-figures, to lead the Ramblers' offense. Ali Berg chipped in a season-high 15 points, just one shy of a career-best, in the loss.
