CHICAGO – The Rambler track & field teams take off this weekend to open the 2023-34 schedule. The squad will split duties at the Purdue Northwest Classic on Friday and the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University on Saturday.
Running events in Purdue Northwest Classic are slated to begin at 11 a.m. in Chicago at the Gately Indoor Track Facility. Twenty-two Ramblers look to make their Maroon & Gold season debuts.
Loyola will participate in the 200m, 800m, mile, 3k, 60m hurdles, distance medley relay, and 4x400 relay.
The remaining 15 Ramblers head east to Boston for some long-distance action. The meet is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. CT.
Loyola is coming off back-to-back Atlantic 10 cross country championships after sweeping the men's and women's titles in October.
The Ramblers return a handful of veterans to this season's indoor squad, including a trio of athletes that were tabbed to the A10 All-Rookie Team last season.
Woody Jerome (3k),
Lily Mataway (5k), and
Ali Gillooly (3k) will look to carry their freshmen momentum into their second season in the Maroon & Gold.
